This means no polyurethane, eva, or the off-gassing associated with such products. That being said, it does not have the impact absorption of a foam product. The support provided by the 1" thick bamboo and polyester fiber blend core provides perfect support for your little one... not too hard or soft but it still provides decent cushion for those inevitable stumbles. Also if your little one is in that awkward tipsy stage while sitting up; the Panda Mat is large enough that it can be folded in half to provide additional protection.

The core contains 10% bamboo and is the maximum we could put into the product as bamboo is a stiff fiber but rapidly renewable fiber that is grown with no fertilizers or pesticides.
